A waterscape is fascinating because of the wide variety of colors and textures both in and out of the water. Our 6” Floating Planters are smart additions to both small and large ponds.  Here’s how they work; first fill the liner pot with good quality potting soil and clay.  You’ll need to leave 1 ½ to 2 inches of space on the top.  You can plant one or several types of plants, but make sure to balance the contents so the pot will float evenly and won’t tip over.  After you’re satisfied with the arrangement, add top soil as your top dressing. 

Mixing colors, shapes, volume and heights adds interest and texture to your waterscape.  When you shop for your plants, experiment with different varieties and see what works best in your pond.   Here are a few categories to explore. 

Vertical Foliage Plants: such as Cattail, Dwarf Papyrus, and Sweet Flag

Plants that Cascade: such as water mint and parrot feather

Magical Marginal: such as Variegated Spider Lily, Yellow Picher Plant, and Water Celery

Our 6” Floating Pots are safe for Koi. They add color and excitement above the water and shade and nutritional balance below the water.
